Sunspot Activity and the Relationship to Paranormal Activity

By: S. Wonderly

There have been speculations of sunspot activity affecting paranormal activity. This idea is often overlooked. To truly give credit to the possibility of sunspot activity having any effect on paranormal activity one has to fully understand what sunspot activity is. I am going to start however with looking at the generator principal and how this naturally occurring phenomenon may affect paranormal activity.

The Generator principal states that if you move a magnet across a conductive material at a right angle that voltage will be induced into the conductive material. This means that there is a link between magnetism and electricity.

When an investigator is hunting for a paranormal entity one of the tools that may be used at the disposal is an electromagnetic field detector or gauss meter. The idea behind such a tool is that for an entity to manifest itself that it must draw in energy from the surrounding area to use at its disposal. This means if we look again at the relationship between magnetism and electricity that a magnetic field can in turn be stored energy. The use of the EMF (electromagnetic field) detector is to look for unexplainable fields in the surrounding area. The thought behind this is that the unexplainable field may be the entity emitting a magnetic field with its stored energy that it is drawing in to use in the process of manifesting itself.

Now that we've looked at what magnetic fields are, how they're used in the field and their relationship to electricity, we can finally begin looking at sunspot activity and the effect it may have on paranormal activity. The first step is to look at what a sunspot is.

A sunspot is an area of the sun that is actually cooler than the surrounding area. The area is cooler due to a stronger magnetic field which doesn't allow for the convection to transfer the heat. This magnetic field forms below the surface, and extends out to the corona of the sun. The sunspot appears as a darker colored spot on the surface of the sun.

The earth is not the only body in our solar system to create a magnetic field. The sun too creates its own magnetic field. The suns magnetic field is dynamic and can change location and intensity over time. Not much is actually understood about the generation of the magnetic field of the sun; however it is thought to be produced by fluid motions which are below the convection zone.

Sunspot activity has been documented for a long time; there are reports of it dating back to the nineteenth century. Scientists of the period would note that after this activity was spotted on the sun that there would be strong magnetic fluctuations on earth which could be noted in the unusual operation of magnetic devices.

During a sunspot a Solar Flare can occur. Solar Flares can occur when plasma interacts with the magnetic fields of the sunspot and bursts outward. During these flares energetic particles, x-rays and magnetic fields may be shot out into space. The material that bursts out during the flares can attack the earth in a geomagnetic storm. These storms do not go unnoticed as they actually affect the earth.

The earth produces its own magnetic field. We have come to call this field the Magnetosphere. This Magnetosphere as we have come to call it protects the earth from stray magnetic fields and energetic particles. In an essence this Magnetosphere is a protective shield for the earth. The reason we must take this into account is why we are not affected by just any magnetic field floating through space on solar wind. During the Solar Flares the plasma that is emitted is actually a part of the sun, when this plasma comes into contact with the Magnetosphere the plasma disturbs it. These Magnetosphere disturbances can show up as auroras. These auroras are magnetic storms which we call the Aurora Borealis and Aurora Astralis. These auroras are also known as the Northern (Aurora Borealis) and Southern (Aurora Astralis) lights.

During the bombardment of the energetic electromagnetic fields radio transmissions and power grids may be affected. Usually the affects are surges in the power grid and static in the radio transmissions. Occasionally the outputs of the fields from the sun are so powerful that they can induce so much more voltage into the power grid that they can actually overload them. The affects are not limited to the power grid as they can also drown out radio transmissions.

This may not seem like a large deal, but when you look at how many disturbances the increased sunspot activity makes, you have to consider the possibilities that the extra magnetic forces at the disposal of paranormal entities may allow for increased activity.

Sunspots are also noted to run in a cycle of frequency of visibility increasing and decreasing overtime. These cycles run on average 10.8 years. This means that during an average of 10.8 years there will at times be more and at other times be less sunspot activity.

After looking through all this data one may conclude that this may have a relationship to places of paranormal activity that seem to die off. If these places were fueled by increased magnetic fields from sunspot activity it is possible that as the cycle shifted decreasing the amount of sunspots for the given period of time that the catalyst for the paranormal activity then decreased as well. This would mean that an area of high paranormal activity may die off and then return at a later time.
